Options and expectations
Does a fertility assessment mean I need IVF?
No. The specialist reviews your history and test results and discusses appropriate options. IVF is one possible treatment; further investigation or another approach may be more suitable.
How long can an IVF cycle take?
A cycle commonly takes around three to six weeks, depending on the protocol. Investigations and appointments can add time. This is not a promised stay in Istanbul: obtain an individual monitoring and visit schedule before booking travel.
What risks and uncertainties should I understand?
IVF cannot guarantee pregnancy or a live birth. Ask about ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, multiple pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy and procedure-related risks, and how your team would respond if a problem occurred.

When to seek urgent help during fertility treatment
- Severe or worsening abdominal pain or swelling
- Difficulty breathing, fainting or very little urine
- Heavy bleeding or other symptoms your fertility team has told you to report urgently
